December 11, 2008 - 2005 Bayline 285 stolen for second time
On December 11, 2008 Detective Morrison of the Port Moody PD investigated the theft of a Bayliner 285 from Reed Point Marina (Port Moody BC). The HIN provided by the owner was not appear legitimate, and was determined to belong to a Bayliner 285 already reported stolen from Crescent Beach Marina, Surrey BC, in August 2007. It appears that after being stolen from Crescent Beach, a "C" in the HIN was altered to an "O" and a new vessel license obtained. There may be ghost imaging of the name Coconut Grove and the legitimate vessel license 15K8342. It is believed that the vessel would have remained in the water and not trailered from the area.  We request all marina's check their temporary moorage slips and listing of any new customers for this vessel.

The vessel had been re-insured under the altered numbers. Therefore, we also request all brokers and underwriters determine if a vessel fitting this description has received a policy since early December 2008.
